Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation
There are plenty of great things about getting older and wiser, but the effects of childbearing and aging on our vaginal tissues are not on the list.
Childbirth can stretch and weaken vaginal tissues and supporting muscles, and hormonal changes during peri-menopause and menopause can lead to further thinning of tissues, as well as vaginal dryness.
All these changes can negatively impact a woman’s comfort, self-confidence, and sexual experiences—but ThermiVa can help in just a few, short and painless treatments.Get the 5-star patient care you deserve at LJCMS
What is ThermiVa?
ThermiVa is a non-surgical energy-based treatment that uses radiofrequency to gently heat tissues. This heat induces collagen production and remodeling in the internal and external vulvovaginal tissues, which helps the area become firmer and better toned and also increases natural lubrication.
The tissue-tightening effects of ThermiVa have been shown to have some very welcome additional benefits for many women, including:
- Relief from post-menopausal dryness
- Reduced urinary stress incontinence
- Enhanced orgasm quality in certain patients
Am I a good candidate for ThermiVa?
ThermiVa is a great option to help tone and firm vaginal tissues with the goal of improving comfort and self-confidence. ThermiVa is safe for all skin types and suitable for adult women of all ages. The best candidates are women who have one or more of the following goals:
- Reduce vaginal laxity after pregnancy and childbirth
- Reduce vaginal dryness and improve tissue tone after menopause
- Alleviate urinary stress incontinence
- Improve the appearance of the genital area.
We invite you to schedule a free consultation with our experienced medical providers to discuss the specific benefits of ThermiVa for you.
How does ThermiVa work?
Depending on your treatment, you may be asked to shave the area a few days in advance so the area is not too sensitive during treatment.
During treatment, your provider will gently place the soft, thin ThermiVA wand on the labia and inside the vagina. She will slowly move this want to deliver heat thoroughly to the vulvovaginal tissues and labia. The typical treatment lasts 15 to 30 minutes.
Most patients have little-to-no sensitivity in the area after a ThermiVa treatment, and can resume their normal level of activity immediately. Some women report improvement in how the area feels almost immediately, although it often takes several weeks for full results to realize.
Does ThermiVa hurt?
ThermiVa is a famously comfortable, painless procedure. Before treatment, we lubricate the area with ultrasound gel, which reduces friction and helps the ThermiVa wand move easily. You will feel slight warmth coming from the wand during treatment, but this is not at all uncomfortable.
How many treatments will I need?
Some women are satisfied with their results after their first treatment, but for most patients, we recommend a series of three ThermiVa treatments, performed in one-month intervals.
